What happens if you gain notoriety and credibility as a social media influencer? Despite the fact that one could feel on top of the world, this career is not without its drawbacks. The Social Currency, a new Netflix original series, centres around this idea.
The official trailer for the movie was unveiled by Netflix today. Eight social media influencers—Parth Samthaan, Bhavin Bhanushali, Ruhi Singh, Vagmita Singh, Rowhi Rai, Mridul Madhok, Sakshi Chopra, and Aakash Mehta—fight for their lives in a war unlike any other in the Union Territory of Goa.
These influencers will compete on Social Currency to win their rightful place as the “Top Influencer” and a staggering 50 lakh cash award, with a mission to earn their position and the crucial money they need to survive! This pioneering influencer survival challenge, created by SOL Production Private Ltd, will debut on Netflix on June 22.
Popular rapper Badshah, actress Sunny Leone, and social media star Kusha Kapila all make brief cameos in the trailer.
Sunny Leone, who came with a unique challenge for the influencers on Social Currency, said in a press statement: “There is just one piece of advice that I have for all the influencers participating in Social Currency and that is – be you and love yourself. You should never change who you are. This is a show, enjoy it. Win the show in your own way. Can’t wait to binge watch Social Currency on Netflix.”
Kusha Kapila, adds, “I think this is a completely new genre of content jahan pe aapko ‘influencing’ kar ke dikhaani hai. Social media rockstar, Ashish Chanchlani also features for a few seconds in the trailer. In a press statement today, he shares, “Social Currency is a game-changer, forcing influencers to go beyond their virtual personas.
