Good news for all the lovers of Netflix’s Original series Heartstopper, which is now confirmed to have a season 2! Yes, the wholesome and swoon-worthy series is coming back with a new season.
On Wednesday, Kit Connor, the 19-year-old actor who played the role of Nick Nelson in the series, took over his Instagram and confirmed Season 2 as he shared the first look at the upcoming season. He wrote, “S2 first looks!”.
Inspired By Alice Oseman’s Graphics novel with the same title, Heartstopper quickly became the talk of the town during its release, receiving a lot of appreciation and love from the viewers, as it ranked 150 on IMDb’s top list.
Season one of the series was based on two high school friends named Charlie and Nick, who soon discovered their sexuality and love for each other as they started a relationship by overcoming societal pressure.
The upcoming season is said to be a follow-up, which will showcase their lives as a homosexual couple. According to some reports, it is said that some new characters will also be introduced such as David, Nick’s elder brother who is homophobic.
In season 2 we might also get to see more about Charlie’s personal life, his battle with mental health issues, his eating disorder, and bullying for being a part of the LGBT community.
As per the reports, the upcoming season is already under development since June 2022, and the new season might be on air around August 2023.
