As the world is preparing to witness the royal coronation of Charles III and his wife Camilla, Queen Consort of the United Kingdom on 6th May, an American media company, Netflix has arrived with an interesting concept that fictionalizes one of the most talked about occasion of British royal family: the marriage of King George III to Charlotte of Mecklenburg- Strelitz, a German noble and outsider.
Queen Charlotte features the characters in the time period shown in Bridgeton but also in the past. The cast includes a bunch of talented and well known actors such as Golda Rosheuvel as Queen Charlotte, Adoja Andoh as Lady Danbury, Ruth Gemmell as Violet Bridgerton and Hugh Sachs as the queen’s secretary Brimsley in the main series, as the characters will be seen playing same role in the prequel.
The younger version of the characters will be played by India Amarteifio, Arsema Thomas, Connie Jenkins- Greig and Sam Clemmett. Other than the mentioned names Corey Mylchreest as young King Goerge III and Michelle Fairley as Princess Augusta will be seen playing pivotal roles.
This may come as a surprise but as of now there isn’t any chance to see Queen Charlotte Season 2 on screen in near future. But the makers are all set with the prequel series that focuses on young Charlottee as she prepares to get married to King George III.
Till now no Bridgerton spinoffs have been announced yet.
