Indian Singer-Songwriter and actor, who majorly works in the Punjabi Entertainment Industry, Diljit Dosanjh has been enchanting the hearts of his fans and admirers for a long time now with his soothing voice and amazing acting skills.
The 39-year-old artist just recently gave a stunning performance at Coachella and is all set to make his comeback as an actor on Netflix’s upcoming movie ‘Amar Singh Chamkila’.
The upcoming movie tells the story of the legendary Punjabi artist named ‘Amar Singh Chamkila’ who rose to fame due to his powerful vocals back in the 80s, crowing himself as a winner after fighting a battle with poverty and his poor circumstances, becoming the most popular and highly charted artist of that time. Later on, the emerging artist was assassinated at the young age of 27. Directed by Imtiaz Ali, apart from Diljit Dosanjh, Parineeti Chopra will also be seen in the main role.
Talking about the upcoming movie, the filmmaker Imtiaz stated, “could not have asked for better actors than the immensely talented Diljit Dosanjh and Parineeti Chopra to play in this film, especially since it involves some live singing. The film follows the crazed popularity of Chamkila’s daring songs that society could neither ignore nor swallow”.
Diljit Dosanjh on Tuesday took over his Instagram and shared the official first trailer of the upcoming project with his 14.9 million followers and added the caption, “Jo naam saalon se aapke dil aur dimag se chaaya hai woh ab aapke samne aaya hai, Watch the untold story of Punjab’s highest-selling artist, Amar Singh #Chamkila, Coming Soon only on Netflix”. Fans are very excited and surprised to see the ‘Ek Kudi’ singer with his signature Turban, for the movie.
Diljit is also reportedly to appear in the upcoming Bollywood movie, ‘The Crew’ alongside Kareena Kapoor, Tabu, Kriti Sanon, and Shehnaaz Gil.
