In a significant update ahead of the highly anticipated “BTS THE COMEBACK LIVE | ARIRANG,” global K-pop group BTS has confirmed that member RM sustained an ankle injury during rehearsals, leading to restricted participation in the upcoming performance on March 21.

According to an official statement, RM was injured on March 19 during a rehearsal session and was immediately taken to the hospital for a detailed medical examination. Doctors diagnosed him with a sprain of the accessory navicular, a partial ligament tear, and a talus contusion—conditions that involve ligament damage and inflammation.

Medical professionals have advised that RM wear a cast and significantly limit movement for at least two weeks to ensure proper recovery. Despite his strong determination to perform fully at the symbolic comeback event in Gwanghwamun, the agency decided to prioritise his health and follow medical guidance.

As a result, RM’s on-stage participation, including choreography, will be partially limited during the “BTS THE COMEBACK LIVE | ARIRANG” event. However, he is still expected to appear on stage and engage with fans, making efforts to be part of the performance within safe limits.

The announcement comes as fans worldwide eagerly await BTS’s comeback stage. The agency acknowledged the high expectations and expressed regret for any disappointment caused, while assuring that the group is preparing thoroughly to deliver a meaningful and memorable performance.
