Mnet’s Boys II Planet, the highly anticipated sequel to the 2023 survival show Boys Planet, is set to captivate K-pop fans worldwide in 2025. Following the success of its predecessor, which launched the global sensation ZEROBASEONE (ZB1), this new season promises intense competition, diverse talent, and a unique format. Here’s everything we know so far about Boys II Planet.
What Is Boys II Planet?
Boys II Planet is a global K-pop survival show created by Mnet, designed to discover and debut a new boy group. As a follow-up to Boys Planet and Girls Planet 999, the show builds on the space-themed aesthetic, introducing a “multiverse” concept. Originally planned as Planet B, it will feature two simultaneous programs—Boys II Planet K (Korean) and Boys II Planet C (Chinese)—but with a twist: instead of debuting two separate groups, the narratives will converge to form a single global boy group.
This innovative format aims to showcase raw talent from around the world, regardless of nationality, and create a group with universal appeal. Fans will play a crucial role in voting for their favorite contestants, shaping the final lineup.
Premiere Dates and Broadcast Details
Boys II Planet is confirmed to premiere in the summer of 2025, with the following schedule:
-
Boys II Planet K: July 17, 2025
-
Boys II Planet C: July 18, 2025
The show will air on Mnet in South Korea and be simulcast on platforms like iQIYI, AbemaTV, and Mnet Japan. Global fans can stream episodes on Viki, Viu, and Mnet’s YouTube channel (Mnet K-Pop) in select regions. The two programs will follow the same format, produced in Korean and Chinese, respectively, ensuring accessibility for a broad audience.
