The main character of the movie is Atlas Shepherd, who has spent years learning about Agent Harlan, an artificial intelligence.
According to the teaser, Harlan was created to further humanity, but he instead begins to bring it to an end. While on a mission to apprehend Harlan, Atlas is ambushed by her squad and ends up landing on an unidentified planet that is unfriendly and unstable. As shown in the movie, she tracks down Harlan with AI Smith’s assistance, overcoming every challenge as they go, and prevents the end of the world for the blue planet.
In addition to Jennifer Lopez as Atlas Shepherd, the film stars Mark Strong as General Jake Boothe, Lana Parrilla as Val Shephred, Gregory James Cohan as Smith, Abhraham Popoola as Casca Decius, and Sterling K. Brown as Colonel Elias Banks.
