Taylor Swift has lived true to her self-proclaimed “Mastermind” position by releasing new versions of two “Midnights” songs on Friday.
Taylor announced news of this epic remix on May 24 on Instagram. “I’m a massive fan of this brilliant artist and after getting to know her I can confirm: she is THE ONE to watch,” Taylor wrote. “So delighted to say that “Karma” featuring the incredible Ice Spice will be out TOMORROW night at MIDNIGHT ET as part of the new Midnights (Til Dawn Edition) deluxe album.”
In one, she spices up “Karma” with an all-new verse from Ice Spice, probably the hottest rapper of the time. Swift all but cedes the sound emphasise in the other, plainly entitled “(Featuring More Lana Del Rey),” to the guest artist who was previously inaudible on the tune, Lana Del Rey.
On Friday, the Grammy-winning singer-songwriter released a remix of “Karma” featuring the fast-rising rapper on Midnights (Til Dawn Edition), a deluxe edition of her latest album.
Meanwhile, a different version of Lana Del Rey’s duet “Snow on the Beach” would be published, as would “You’re Losing Me,” a Midnights “vault track” — all as part of a new Midnights (Til Dawn Edition) deluxe album.
The bad news for fans who aren’t already in or around New Jersey is that this CD edition will only be available at her East Rutherford stadium events’ retail stands. Swift publicised this on social media, even stating the opening time for the merch – 12:30 p.m. ET — ensuring that hundreds of fans will begin showing up for the gigs and seeking out the end of the queue in the morning. There may be plans for additional CD distribution, but Swift has yet to discuss anything.
