Selena Gomez has finally released her new single, Single Soon, after weeks of teasing her fans. It was a high-energy dance piece that praised the carefree, joyful sensation of being single.Even if you intend to do so in the near future.
In the video, Selena leaves a message for her boyfriend, stating that she is breaking up with him and leaving the house to party with her friends. She chooses a dress and some sparkling shoes for the night, and she is free to ‘do whatever’ she wants.
On Thursday, Gomez resorted to Instagram to confirm her new album is in the works and to reveal the song’s release date.
“Y’all have been asking for new music for a while. Since I’m not quite done with SG3, I wanted to put out a fun little song I wrote a while back that’s perfect for the end of summer. SINGLE SOON. August 25th. Presave it now,” she posted on social media.
Selena Gomez also shared a series of behind-the-scenes photos from the making of Single Soon. She is rumoured to be working on her fourth album, which will be the follow-up to 2020’s Rare. She hasn’t published an album since 2020’s Rare, though the following year she released her all-Spanish EP Revalación.
She’s also appeared on a few infrequent singles since her previous full-length release, including Rema’s 2022 blockbuster Calm Down, and released a standalone track My Mind & Me last year in support of her documentary of the same name.The new music announcement follows Gomez’s launch of the Rare Beauty Impact Fund last week.
Selena may also be seen in the third season of Only Murders in the Building, starring with Steve Martin and Martin Short. Meryl Streep and Paul Rudd also appear in the new season.
