Doja Cat will be hosting and performing in this year’s MTV Video Music Awards

Doja Cat takes it to Instagram, announcing that she’d be hosting the MTV Video Music Awards for the year 2021

The MTV’s Video Music Awards for the year 2021 are to be hosted by none other than Say So singer, Doja Cat, which will air on September 13.

The artist shared the news with her insta following sending the fans berserk who thought that she’d just be performing among many of their favourite pop sensations like Olivia Rodrigo, Camila Cabello, Shawn Mendes etc.

While as a performer this would be Doja’s second appearance after lighting up the stage with her groovy hit songs, Say So and Like That, as an award show host this will be her first-time experience.

In 2020 Doja Cat won the Moon Person for the best new artist and since then the singer has only skyrocketed in her musical journey.

This year the I Want You singer has been nominated for five areas which consist of the best new artist and video of the year.

Unlike last year when there was no audience allowed due to the Covid crisis, this year there have been announcements yet of that sort.

In addition to Doja Cat, fan favourites like Twenty-One Pilots, Chloe, Lil Nas X, Billie Eilish, Lorde and Machine Gun Kelly will also be performing on the award night.

So far Justin Bieber is in the lead with seven nominations, followed by Megan Thee Stallion with six and bagging five of them are BTS, Doja Cat, Billie Eilish, Giveo, Olivia Rodrigo, Drake and Lil Nas X.
