Coldplay concert: EOW summons BookMyShow’s CEO amidst ongoing probe for alleged black ticketing

The Economic Offence Wing (EOW) of Mumbai police has sent summons to Ashish Hemrajani, CEO of Big Tree Entertainment, parent company of BookMyShow, and has been asked to appear with the technical head of the company today at 11 am. They were earlier asked to appear before the agency on  September 27, however, they failed to do so. The investigating officer have summoned to record their statement by today.

The summons comes in reaction to a lawsuit filed by a Mumbai – based advocate Amit Vyas, who has accused BookMyShow of allegedly manipulating and black ticketing of Coldplay concert tickets.

As per the reports by ANI, Mumbai police has revealed “Mumbai Police’s EOW sent summons to CEO Ashish Hemrajani of Big Tree Entertainment Private Limited, the parent company of BookMyShow and the company’s technical head yesterday. EOW had sent them summons earlier on Sep 27 but they didn’t appear before the agency. They have been asked to appear before the investigating officer today and record their statements. Advocate Amit Vyas had complained to EOW about the alleged black marketing of the Coldplay concert tickets.”

Along with BookMyShow, the complaint has also been filed against Live Nation. Vyas has claimed to file the complain on behalf of the genuine fans of the British Band, who are deprived of tickets, which is allegedly due to manipulation of the ticketing platform.
