The Hyderabad leg of Acutya Gopi’s Chal Man Vrindavan India tour, scheduled for October 4, was cancelled at the last moment, leaving devotees and ticket holders disheartened. Many attendees had already reached the venue before being asked to leave, with the organisers issuing apologies on behalf of the Chal Man Vrindavan team hosting the event.
In a statement, the organisers said:
“Our guests, Nitai’s guests, Krishna’s own people behind closed gates chanting the Holy Names were not allowed entry to our sold-out event. We have released an official statement explaining why the chief of police has withdrawn permission. Long story short—politics. Heavy heartbreaking politics. Politics which threatened to harm my life. A topic I’ll avoid getting into, but not one that we will ignore any longer. It’s such a shame that people would rather create divisions than come together to see one common goal succeed.”
The Chal Man Vrindavan team added that while the Hyderabad show could not proceed due to the police order, the experience has only strengthened their conviction to spread the Holy Names and Sri Nitai’s glories far and wide.
Authorities cited “an issue” as the reason behind the withdrawal of permission, though further explanation from officials is still awaited.
The India tour, led by celebrated devotional singer Acutya Gopi, had already begun and was being held to raise funds for women’s empowerment, education, healthcare, and cultural preservation initiatives in Vrindavan.
