Samrat Prithviraj, starring Akshay Kumar, is a historical drama that provides us with a peek at our rich Indian history. Co-starring debutant and former Miss World Manushi Chhillar, Samrat Prithviraj is based on our history and kings and has received support from the Uttar Pradesh government. Uttar Pradesh’s Yogi Adityanath has proclaimed the Akshay Kumar film tax-free, and it is expected that other states will follow suit soon.
Earlier today it was reported that Honorable Home Minister Amit Shah praised Samrat Prithviraj, stating that it is a film about Indian women and their empowerment. Many politicians, including the Karni Sena, praised the film’s content and praised it for maintaining its authenticity. As a result, it’s hardly surprising that the movie has been certified tax-free in Uttar Pradesh. According to reports, the film has pleased other Indian governments, and if all goes well, the picture may be deemed tax-free in other Indian states as well. However, no further information on that front has been released.
Samrat Prithviraj is Yash Raj Films’ first historical drama film, as well as Akshay Kumar’s first non-fictional king role. The film also features Sanjay Dutt and Sonu Sood. Former miss world Manushi Chhillar will make her acting debut as Samrat Prithviraj Chauhan’s wife Sanyogita in the film.
