Ranbir Kapoor, Vaani Kapoor and Sanjay Dutt starrer Shamshera to be postponed due to COVID-19

Ranbir Kapoor, Vaani Kapoor and Sanjay Dutt starrer Shamshera gets a new date for shooting. It is being postponed due to COVID-19 pandemic.

Due to the coronavirus pandemic, many ongoing shootings came to a halt. After few months, when the Government decide to ease the lockdown rules, few of the movies and TV series went back to their shooting schedule. The crew members as well as the actors are supposed to follow precautions.

Recently, the report came in that Ranbir Kapoor, Vaani Kapoor and Sanjay Dutt starrer Shamshera’s shooting has been postponed. The movie was going to release on July 31, 2020, but due to the pandemic the shooting was incomplete. Hence, the release date had to be pushed.

Director Karan Malhotra was all set to begin shooting from August 1, but as the cases are rising in Maharashtra, the shooting has been postponed.

Speaking to TOI and confirming it, Ashok Dubey (General Secretary, FWICE) said, “Yes, there has been a delay by a fortnight as far as ‘Shamshera’ is concerned. The shoot for its remaining portion will now begin from August 15.”

It is being said that only 4 to 6 days of shooting is left and that it will begin from August 15. Ranbir and Sanjay Dutt with limited crew members will be the only actors to return to Mumbai studio for the shoot.

The plot line of Shamshera revolves around the 1800s and the film is about a dacoit tribe who took charge to fight for their rights and independence against the British. Ranbir Kapoor will be seen in double role whereas Sanjay Dutt will be seen in a negative role. Vaani Kapoor will play the role of a dancer. Ronit Roy and Iravati Harshe will also play important roles in the movie.
