Ranbir Kapoor and Deepika Padukone to team up again in Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s Baiju Bawra remake?

Sanjay Bhansali to team up with Ranbir Kapoor yet again after their first flop together. This time along With Deepika Padukone For a remake of the 1952 film Baiju Bawra.

The entire film industry has been brought to a halt, thanks to the corona pandemic. Everything is halted as of now. Shoots of various films and television shows have been stopped, all kinds of travel have been halted, there are no new films releasing and things are pretty bleak for the entertainment industry.

Yet, filmmakers haven’t given up hope! There are a lot of films that are being planned, some are being written, as I file this report, and one of them is Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s remake of the Bharat Bhushan and Meena Kumari starrer 1952 classic film Baiju Bawra.

Bollywood Hungama reported the Bhansali is in talks with Ranbir Kapoor and Deepika Padukone in order for them to be part of the remake of the 1952 film.

A source told Bollywood Hungama, ““Ranbir and Deepika make a pair to reckon with on-screen and Bhansali wants to create magic on-screen with the two actors. Talks are on, however, neither of the two have signed the dotted lines yet. He will work with Ranveer again in the future, but he doesn’t want to repeat the pairing of the real-life couple for the fourth consecutive time.”

Ranbir and Deepika worked together in Bachna Ae Haseeno, that’s when rumours of them being together were pretty rife, and yet that could not salvage the film from becoming a huge flop. Thereafter in Tamasha, when again the two got together for this Imtiaz Ali film, it was again was a box-office dud. And, how on earth can one forget about Sanjay Leela Bhansali and Ranbir Kapoor’s first outing Saawariya? That film was a huge disappointment to the mass and the critics too.

But there still is hope, Ayan Mukerji’s Yeh Jaawani Hai Deewani saw Deepika and Ranbir come together as a pair and the film was massive at the box office.

The source has further been quoted as saying, “These are all early talks, which started before the lockdown, but with the entire calendar of actors going for a toss, it would be interesting to see how things shape up. Though Ranbir and Deepika will make for a formidable pair in a Bhansali film.”

On the work front, Sanjay Leela Bhansali was set to incur a loss of Rs 15 crore because he has finally decided to demolish the Gangubai Kathiawadi set.
