With the upcoming gangster drama Chengiz, Bengali cinema is now prepared to follow the lead of the south film industry and join the pan-Indian bandwagon. Bengali actor Jeet, who plays the lead in Chengiz, has been keeping a stony quiet regarding the movie, much to the displeasure of his fans. The actor has already made a big statement, revealing that the movie would be the first Bengali film to have a simultaneous release in Hindi.

The movie, in which Jeet plays Chengiz, centres on the underworld in Calcutta between the 1970s and the mid-1990s. The film, which also features Shataf Figar, Susmita Chatterjee, and Rohit Bose Roy in significant parts, follows the journey of an underworld leader who controlled the streets of Kolkata at the time.

In this widely popular mass entertainer, Jeet dons a completely different persona, adding his style and charm while looking lethal but fashionable. Fans have been anxiously awaiting Jeet’s newest picture, “Chengiz,” to offer another film with broad appeal after his last release, “Raavan,” an additional action film, had a respectable reception at the box office.
