However, it seems that the film has found an unexpected fan in the form of BTS’s V, also known as Kim Taehyung.
In a recent interview and photoshoot for W Korea magazine’s September issue, Kim Taehyung, the cover model for the publication, was asked about his recent film interests. During the shoot, a clip emerged where someone inquired in Korean, “Have you seen any good movies lately?” In response, the Love Me Again singer enthusiastically exclaimed, “Barbie. It is one of the most impactful films I have seen recently.”
The endorsement from V carries significant weight in South Korea, where BTS’s influence in the entertainment industry is immense. While Greta Gerwig’s adaptation may not have achieved the same level of success as in the US, V’s praise could potentially spark renewed interest in the film among South Korean audiences.
