Warner Bros. and New Line Cinema have unveiled a chilling poster for The Nun II, the highly anticipated sequel to the horror film. This release comes as they collaborate with director James Wan’s Atomic Monster production company. Simultaneously, the online premiere of The Nun 2 trailer has created a wave of anticipation. Fans are encouraged to watch the trailer and then explore the haunting new poster, which prominently features the iconic demonic character, Valak, known from the previous installment.

Continuing the expansive universe that James Wan initiated with The Conjuring in 2013, The Nun 2 is a sequel that ties into The Conjuring franchise. It follows in the footsteps of its predecessor, The Nun (2018), which served as both a prequel and spin-off within the main Conjuring series, alongside The Annabelle Trilogy. Valak, alongside the infamous Annabelle doll, stands as one of the most recognizable and iconic figures in The Conjuring series, first appearing as the primary antagonist in The Conjuring 2.


The Nun series explores the backstory and journey of Valak, leading up to its ultimate encounter with paranormal investigators Ed and Lorraine Warren. It delves into the origins and malevolent presence of Valak, shedding light on the terrifying entity’s path within the larger Conjuring narrative.

The Nun 2 welcomes back Taissa Farmiga as Sister Irene and Jonas Bloquet as Frenchie. Anna Popplewell (Chronicles of Narnia) joins as “Kate” and Strom Reid (Missing, The Last of Us) also appears. Bonnie Aarons reprises her role as the demonic Nun Valak. Director Michael Chaves, known for The Conjuring: The Devil Made Me Do It, takes over from Corin Hardy for The Nun 2. The sequel promises to deliver more supernatural horror with a fresh directorial perspective while continuing the haunting Conjuring universe. The release date for The Nun II is set for September 7th, when the film will hit theaters
