Alia Bhatt, Ranbir Kapoor starrer Brahmastra to be shortened by ONE Hour, after Karan Johar faces backlash?

Director Ayan Mukerji has also been asked to edit down the film’s length to around two hours. The way the film has been shot the duration has reached up to 3 hours.

Alia Bhatt and Ranbir Kapoor’s most-awaited movie Brahmastra has to face duration cut. Due to the Coronavirus crisis and the backlash Karan Johar has faced after Sushant Singh Rajput’s death, Brahmastra might have to face the repercussions. Also, director Ayan Mukerji has also been asked to edit down the film’s length to around two hours. The way the film has been shot the duration has reached up to 3 hours and hence, Ayan has been told to edit the footage to a palatable 2-hour duration.

Ayan Mukerji’s Brahmastra is perhaps one of the most ambitious films to come out of Bollywood in recent times. The fantasy drama, revealed its logo at Kumbh on Mahashivaratri. Ranbir Kapoor, who reportedly plays a man with special powers in Brahmastra, is named Shiva while Alia Bhatt’s name is Isha.

With the initial release date of December 2019 postponed, the film was supposed to be released on 4 December’20 instead. But with the sudden pandemic and a worldwide lockdown, the film may get postponed even further now. Still left with around two weeks of shoot, Brahmastra is currently in post production. The film would also go on cost cutting as the film was the most expensive one due to the ongoing pandemic.
