Alia Bhatt has resumed filming for Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s Gangubai Kathiawadi in Mumbai. According to a report of Mid-day, the director had shot a few portions before the lockdown and now, the cast and crew are pulling all-nighters to complete the shoot. It was further reported that a large part of the film’s set in Mumbai’s Film City was taken down due to the monsoons. But, a portion of the set which resembles Mumbai’s Kamathipura was left untouched.
The report was further quoted saying, “To maintain continuity, Sanjay sir picked up the shoot exactly from where he had left it. Since October 1, Alia and the team have been reporting to the set by 7 pm, and the stint goes on till the wee hours of the morning. Although a part of the grand set had been pulled down ahead of the monsoons, the portion resembling Kamathipura had been left untouched. So, the director has been able to shoot without any hiccup.”
The ‘Bajirao Mastani’ director has to keep COVID-19 guidelines in mind while shooting. The crew has been reduced to not more than 50 members because of the restrictions.
Gangubai Kathiawadi is a biographical crime movie, which also stars Parth Samthaan of Kasautii Zindegii Kay fame. The movie tells the story of Gangubai, who was the mistress of the Kamathipura brothels in the 1960s.
