45 Years of Sholay: Shweta Bachchan shares a ‘sneak peek’ from the sets, says “The Show must go on”

From Jay-Veeru, Basanti to Gabbar and Thakur, Sholay truly makes a movie with worth celebrating 45 years.

Unforgettable dialogues, massive characters played by superstars, symbolic scenes and what not; one of the blockbuster films of Indian Cinema, Sholay truly marks the epitome of larger than life. The movie on saturday completed it’s 45 years of release, calling for a celebration. Shweta Bacchan shared an unseen picture from the sets of the film featuring her father Amitabh Bacchan, Dharmendra, Amjad Khan, Sanjeev Kumar and a few people.

Big-B played the character Jay besides Veeru, which was played by Dharmendra and the duo set the goals of friendship for ages. Ramesh Sippy who is the maker of the film while commenting in an interview with PTI said-“The basic idea was about two young guys (Jai and Veeru) on the run, their love for adventure and how they get involved in this emotional story of Thakur. All the character came into place one-by-one. It took a life of its own as we discussed and moved further in the script. The journey of creating Sholay, including scripting and casting, took a little over two years,” he said.

Shweta Bacchan shared the old picture remembering the significance movie is carrying with a caption-  “India’s tryst with its movies has been a long and beautiful one.
