SISTAR19 member Hyolyn drops apology for saying the N-word while vibing to a song

Hyolyn, on February 16, took to her social media handle to share an elaborate apology note, regarding the criticism she has been facing for singing along the N-word.

“Yesterday, while singing along to a song that was playing in the background, I carelessly uttered a charged word with significant cultural and historical implications. I am deeply regretful and heartbroken to have hurt so many of you by my ignorance. I am sincerely sorry,” wrote the star.

The member of SISTAR19 has been sharing glimpse from her vacation on Instagram. A day prior she shared a video, wherein she can be seen vibing to Doja Cat’s song, which contains the usage of N-word. The video, which also featured stylist GANi, showed the hit song being played loudly in the background while the K-pop star can be heard sing along with it.

Several users pointed that Hyolyn also mouthed the slur. Following this, Hyolyn’s post sparked a huge controversy for her.
