Actor and singer Kim Yoon-hwan, popularly known as Kang Tae Oh, is a South Korean who has been released from the military after serving his required term. From September 2022 until May 2023, he was a soldier in active service for almost one year and six months.
Upon his return, Kang Tae Oh expressed his gratitude, saying, “I enlisted after receiving great love from everyone after wrapping up ‘Extraordinary Attorney Woo.’ I faced the end of my 20s and the start of my 30s in the military, and it was a meaningful time during which I fixed my bad habits and earned only good things.”
Considering the future, “I will work to impress with great projects going forward, so please show lots of anticipation and love,” continued Kang Tae Oh.

According to reports, he may be thinking about playing a part in the upcoming romantic comedy-drama Potato Research Institute. According to Soompi, his agency, Man of Creation, verified the report, stating that the Potato Research Institute is a project that Kang Tae Oh is currently positively considering.”
A new Korean drama titled Potato Research Centre is slated to combine humour and romance and is set in a rural potato research centre. The lead role, which has a character with a striking appearance, an outsider persona, and an unexpected appeal, is apparently being considered for Kang Tae Oh. With writer Kim Ho Soo and director Kang Il Soo working together once more, the series brings the creative team from Rookie Historian Goo Hae Ryung back together.
It is anticipated that the drama Potato Research Institute will premiere in 2025, if not in the second half of 2024.
The 29-year-old Kang Tae Oh was formerly a part of the acting ensemble 5urprise. Later on, he became well-known and received praise from all around the world for his starring part in the TV show Extraordinary Attorney Woo.
