Fans of Reacher are eagerly anticipating Season 3 on Amazon Prime Video, especially with new hints pointing towards a possible release date.
The show’s renewal came quickly, with confirmation that production for Season 3 was already underway even before Season 2 premiered on Prime Video in December 2023.
In a January update, it was revealed that Season 3 will be based on Lee Child’s seventh Reacher novel, Persuader, setting the stage for an intense new chapter in Jack Reacher’s story.
By April, Jennifer Salke and Alan Ritchson had shared that Ritchson would be heading back to Toronto to wrap up filming for Season 3.
When Can We Expect Reacher Season 3?
Filming for Season 3 of Reacher kicked off in Toronto in January 2024, with Alan Ritchson reprising his role as the iconic Jack Reacher. The season is based on Persuader, a novel where Reacher goes undercover to rescue an informant from a former enemy, leading to a moral dilemma after he witnesses a brutal kidnapping. Fans can also look forward to the return of Maria Sten as Frances Neagley, while Ritchson takes on additional responsibilities as an executive producer.
This season introduces Anthony Michael Hall as Zachary Beck, a successful businessman and single father who runs a rug import company. However, Reacher and his team suspect Beck of hiding something far more sinister behind his legitimate business operations. In an exclusive interview, Hall mentioned that filming for the season would continue until July 2024, despite the initial start date being reported as January, with delays due to the strike.
Alan Ritchson has hinted that filming for Reacher Season 3 might be complete, as he has begun preparing for a new role in the film Motor City, sharing his transformation process on Instagram, which suggests his work on Reacher has wrapped up.
The first season of Reacher premiered in February 2022, and Season 2 followed in December 2023, about 22 months later. According to TVLine, Season 3 is likely to premiere in early 2025, although an official release date has yet to be confirmed. Given that filming has likely wrapped up, an early 2025 release seems probable. However, it wouldn’t be surprising if Prime Video opts to release Season 3 in December 2024, following the pattern of Season 2’s success.
