Tina Knowles shared a message on Instagram on March 19 following a social media controversy involving her grandchildren, Sir and Rumi Carter. The 71-year-old mother of Beyoncé posted a video captioned with a statement emphasizing resilience, saying it was difficult to remain “positive and classy in the face of ignorance and evil.” She expressed confidence that no harm against her family would succeed, adding that the situation was beyond her control.
Knowles’ post came in response to Kanye West’s remarks about Beyoncé and Jay-Z’s 7-year-old twins. The rapper, 47, had launched a social media tirade late on March 18, questioning the children’s intelligence. He later issued an apology, stating he felt remorseful for his comments about the couple’s children.
West further addressed his grievances with Jay-Z, suggesting that he had been let down by his former collaborator. He claimed that the rapper and his wife, Beyoncé, could have helped him gain more influence in his custody battle with Kim Kardashian. West also accused them of failing to intervene when he felt overpowered by the Kardashian family.
Reports have suggested that Kardashian, 44, may consider filing for full custody of their four children amid concerns over West’s social media activity. A source quoted by Us Weekly indicated that Kardashian was in a difficult position regarding co-parenting and was prioritizing her children’s well-being. Another source noted that she was concerned West’s online behavior could have negative consequences for their children.
The former couple currently shares custody of North, 11, Saint, 8, Chicago, 6, and Psalm, 5.
