Rick and Michonne are coming back together!
Assuming that you are a lapsed Walking Dead viewer who wants to hop into The Walking Dead: The Ones Who Live, AMC’s limited series that will be reuniting Andrew Lincoln and Danai Gurira for the first time since their character departed in the flagship show in 2018 and 2020, respectively. You certainly don’t have to binge watch all the 177 episodes of the zombie franchise to get set for the show. You can, if you want to, or just watch the key episodes. For the starters, Rick and Michonne were part of the survivors group in the world of zombies. Over the course of eight season, the group went on from one safe haven to another, losing their loved one, not limited to, but including, Rick’s own wife and son. During this time, Rick and Michonne’s relationship is developed. They go from fighting in the same battlefield to lovers in the bedroom.
Until they weren’t!
Five episodes deep into season nine, Andrew departed The Walking Dead. The news of his exit was widely known in advance. However, while most viewers that he is dead, Rick was severely injured in an explosion on the bridge and presumed dead.
Following Rick’s death, the series takes a jump and immediately forwards the plot with several years into the future. Subsequent episodes featured both Michonne and Daryl, played by Norman Reedus, regularly searching their surroundings in search for Rick. Michonne gets lucky one day when she comes across and iPhone. The contents in the phone were enough evidence for her to believe that Rick is alive. She takes on this opportunity and hits the road in search for her lost love.
