Actress Eva Marcille of Real Housewives of Atlanta has filed for divorce from her husband Michael Sterling after four years of marriage. Page Six reported on the actress’s filing in Fulton County, Georgia, declaring her marriage “irretrievably broken” with “no prospects for a reconciliation,” based on court filings in the case. In the court documents, Marcille stated that she has been living apart from her spouse and asked Sterling for both financial assistance and primary custody of her children.
Marcille sought ultimate decision-making authority over everything pertaining to her children in the court filings she submitted when she filed for divorce from her husband. Moreover, she requested an equitable distribution of assets and debts over the course of the marriage as well as coverage for the children’s medical and dental costs.
In an interview with People, Marcille described it as the “hardest decision” of her life and said that their children will always come first.
Marcille told People, “This has been one of the hardest decisions I have ever had to make, but sometimes life takes your journey in a direction you were not expecting. Our children remain our biggest priority and the eight and half years we have spent together will always be cherished. We ask that you respect our privacy at this time.”
