Pirates of the Caribbean 6 updates are still in continuation and has managed to keep fans intrigued, despite a considerable hiatus since the release of last film. Meanwhile, the return of lead actor Johnny Depp as Jack Sparrow remains a mystery though. Before 2003, the pirates movies were considered a guaranteed box office flops, however, POTC changed the scenario as its first installment Pirates of the Caribbean: The Curse of the Black Pearl achieved enormous success and since then the franchise has been proving its international mass appeal and earning Johnny an Oscar nomination for his role.

The latest addition to the franchise, Dead Men Tells No Tales, released in 2017, earned a close to $800 million worldwide and Disney announced the plan of another pirate adventure in 2018. Who will be among the star cast in Pirates of the Caribbean 6?

The reports of Johnny reprising his role in the sixth installment in movie franchise had dominant, until the latest update by producer Jerry Bruckheimer, who spoke candidly about the plans to Pirates series rolling, but doing so in a way that doesn’t rely on the availability of “certain actors.”

In the wake of his successful defamation trial against ex-wife Amber Heard, the back and forth between the actor and Disney has colored much of Pirates of the Caribbean 6 discourse, but the producer has other ideas. While the latest development doesn’t eliminate the possibility of Johnny’s return, it seems as if the days of Captain Jack Sparrow are finally done.

The producer stated, “We’re gonna reboot Pirates, so that is easier to put together because you don’t have to wait for certain actors.”
