Former Doctor Who showrunner and Broadchurch writer Chris Chibnail has teamed up with Netflix to adapt a new Agatha Christie mystery. As per the streaming giant, the show will be based on Christie’s The Seven Dial Mystery and it will be executive produce by Chibnail through his company, Imaginary Friends, alongside James Prichard of Agatha Christie Limited (ALC). Pritchard is also the great grandson of Christie. Suzanne Mackie of Orchid Pictures and Chris Sussman will also executive produce the series, which will be helmed by Chris Sweeney.
The Seven Dials Mystery was first published in 1929 and it has been described as “Gerry Wade has proved himself to be a champion sleeper; so the other house guests decided to play a practical joke on him,” on Agatha Christie website.
The prank was to set off eight alarm clock one after the other, with the first one being at 6.30 a.m. However, when the morning arrived, one clock was missing and what was supposed to be a prank, turned into a tragic incident with consequences.
