The MTV Video Music Awards 2023 will be held on September 12, 2023. But it just got more interesting for fans, as new acts were recently added to the roster, which may throw some fans into a frenzy.
Demi Lavato, Stray Kids, Karol G, and Mneskin had previously confirmed to play at the next award presentation, according to the organisers. However, when more and more well-known acts join the star-studded schedule, it will undoubtedly be a show to watch.
Doja Cat, Lil Wayne, Tomorrow X Together, Anitta, and Kelsea Ballerini have joined the list of artists due to perform at the 2023 MTV Video Music Awards. The event will be streamed live from the Prudential Centre in Newark, New Jersey, on Tuesday, September 12, at 8 p.m. ET.
Doja Cat had an incredible night at the VMAs two years ago, with her song Paint the Town Red immediately going to No. 5 on the Hot 100. She hosted the show, provided stunning performances, and won in two categories.
Meanwhile, Lil Wayne will take the stage with his latest track Kat Food, which will be released on Friday, September 1. Aniita has stated that she will play her EP Funk Generation: A Favela Love Story, as well as collaborate with Tomorrow X Together for a performance. The Kpop band will also release a new single on the MTV stage. Last but not least, Ballerini will make her first VMA appearance this year.
Six of the first ten musicians announced as performers for this year’s event are from outside the United States, highlighting the increasingly global nature of the music landscape in recent years. Shakira and Karol G are both from Colombia, while Stray Kids and TXT are from South Korea, Anitta is from Brazil, and Mneskin is from Italy.
Meanwhile, Taylor Swift is the performer with the most nominations this year, with an outstanding eight. SZA comes close behind with six nominations, while Doja Cat, Kim Petras, Miley Cyrus, Nicki Minaj, Olivia Rodrigo, and Sam Smith each received five.
