‘Monster High’ live action movie release date: When will it release?

Step aside, Barbie—there’s a new doll sensation in town, and this time, it’s bringing the spooky vibes. Monster High, Mattel’s rebellious alternative to Barbie, is gearing up for its big-screen debut, and fans couldn’t be more thrilled.

For those in the know, Monster High isn’t just a line of dolls; it’s a full-blown multimedia empire. From animated web series to TV specials and films (including two live-action TV movies in 2022 and 2023), video games, and a series of books penned by Lisi Harrison (author of the middle-grade series, The Clique), Monster High has left its mark on an entire generation of kids eagerly awaiting its silver screen debut.

In a statement that sent chills of excitement through Monster High fans, Mattel announced its collaboration with none other than Academy Award-winning producer and screenwriter Akiva Goldsman for the highly anticipated theatrical film. Goldsman, known for his work on acclaimed projects like A Beautiful Mind, Star Trek: Strange New Worlds, and the cult TV hit Fringe, expressed his enthusiasm for the project, revealing, “I’ve been fascinated by Monster High since my daughters were obsessed with the dolls as kids.”

Robbie Brenner, President of Mattel Films, highlighted the franchise’s empowering message as a driving force behind the film’s production, stating, “Monster High helps fans discover the great beauty in being true to yourself and celebrates the unique sensibilities at the core of who we are as individuals.”

When is the ‘Monster High’ live-action movie release date?

As for the release date and plot details, it’s still too early to say when we’ll be sinking our teeth into the Monster High movie, but it’s safe to assume it’ll follow the beloved formula of the franchise. Set in a high school of the same name, Monster High introduces us to characters who are the offspring of famous monsters and mythical creatures from legends and folklore.

From Draculara, the daughter of Dracula, to Frankie Stein, the offspring of Frankenstein’s monster and his bride, the roster of characters is as eclectic as it gets. As a self-proclaimed fan of the animated series, I’m particularly eager to see how Mattel translates these iconic characters onto the big screen, especially after some fans expressed disappointment with the recent live-action adaptations not capturing the essence of the dolls and shows.

But fear not, fellow Monster High enthusiasts, if Mattel nailed Barbie’s fashion, there’s hope yet for this upcoming release. So, stay tuned for more updates as we await the arrival of Monster High on the silver screen. As they say, the show must go on!
