The makers have decided onto some change for Masterpiece’s popular drama Miss Scarlet and the Duke.
Stuart Martin, who played the role of Duke in the last four seasons, will not be returning for its fifth installment. However, Kate Phillips, who plays the role of Scarlet, will be reprising her role for the upcoming season five. Hence, the title of the series will be changed to Miss Scarlet.
“It has been such an incredible joy to bring Duke to life through Rachel’s beautiful, brilliant writing, and get to play him for the past four years,” Stuart said in a statement. He added that he will miss working with Kate, but felt like it is time for her to explore stories and challenges.
“I will miss working with my pal Stu every day, and know Eliza will miss her Duke, but I think the best is yet to come for her,” said Kate, adding that she cannot wait for the fans to see what’s coming up in season 5.
The production on season 5 began in Belgrade, Serbia. Additional casting will be announced shortly.
