‘I hope it’s not a goodbye’: Witney Carson on not returning to Dancing with the Stars Season 32

In announcing the news, the professional dancer said she’s ‘not quite mentally and physically ready for what the show calls for’ after welcoming her second child in May.

Witney Carson is looking out for herself — and her family.

The 29-year-old Dancing with the Stars pro has stated she will not return for the show’s upcoming 32nd season on ABC.

Carson announced the news on TikTok on Sunday, citing her growing family and stating that “this was not a decision that we took lightly at all.”

However, she highlighted why it is the greatest option for them going forward.

“We definitely thought and prayed about it for a while, but we will not be doing Dancing With the Stars this season,” she said. “And as much as that pains me to say, I just feel very at peace with it.”

Carson first appeared on Dancing with the Stars in season 18 in 2014. She’s worked with Frankie Muniz and Kel Mitchell, but she only won the competition once, in season 19, with partner Alfonso Ribeiro – who currently co-hosts the show with Julianne Hough.

Last season, she competed in the series alongside Wayne Brady, finishing in third place.

Several improvements have been received in advance of the forthcoming 32nd season. Before the whole group is revealed on Good Morning America on September 13, Bachelorette Charity Lawson and Vanderpump Rules actress Ariana Madix were introduced as candidates. Hough, 35, will also be back in the ballroom, but this time as a co-host rather as a judge or pro-dancer.

Both Mark Ballas and Cheryl Burke have confirmed that they would leave the programme after season 31. Meanwhile, pro Lindsay Arnold announced on TikTok that she will not return after the birth of her second child in May, adding, “I don’t want to put my kids through that right now.”

After one season on Disney+, the sitcom will return to its former home on ABC. The show will be available on both networks at the same time.

Dancing with the Stars Season 32 premieres this autumn on ABC and will be available on Disney+ and Hulu.
