Mitchel Musso, who portrayed Miley Cyrus’ best friend Oliver Oken on the Disney Channel sitcom Hannah Montana, was arrested on Saturday for allegedly getting intoxicated and stealing a packet of chips from a hotel in Rockwell, Texas, a suburb of Dallas. The 32-year-old allegedly entered a motel while drunk and refused to pay for the chips. When confronted, he also got verbally abusive.
According to sources, Musso was detained by the Rockwall Police Department on two counts: public intoxication and theft under $100. He was held in jail for one night before being released after posting a $1,000 bond.
Musso was arrested for drunk driving in 2011. He was 20 at the time and so not of legal drinking age.
Hannah Montana, one of the most popular Disney shows, celebrated its 17th anniversary. The sitcom followed Miley Stewart, an ordinary adolescent who lives a double life as a famous pop singer named Hannah Montana while attempting to conceal her true identity from the public. Hannah Montana aired on the Disney Channel from 2006 to 2011, and a film based on the show, Hannah Montana: The Movie, was released in theatres in 2009.
Emily Osment, Jason Earles, Billy Ray Cyrus, and Moisés Arias also appeared.
Musso has also voiced characters in the cartoon series Phineas and Ferb. He appeared in films such as Hatching Pete, Sins of Our Youth, and The Sand.
