Things aren’t going well between the global icon and Colombian singer, Shakira and her ex boyfriend and Soccer player, Gerard Pique. The day after Shakira’s departure from Barcelona, Gerard Pique made his presence on Gerard Romero’s podcast on the first day of April, 2023.
In this interview Gerard was seen expressing his disappointment on Shakira’s fans of having ‘no lives’ because they continued targeting him for his relationship with his present girlfriend, Clara Chia Marti and cheating on Shakira. Pique added saying, “I am very disappointed with what society is,” in the interview that is translated by US Weekly. “So my ex is Latin American … you don’t know what I’ve gotten on social media from her fans. These people have no lives.”
During the chat show Gerard also mentioned that these kind of things used to effect him earlier but now those things doesn’t even bother him. He said , “In the beginning, it was bad and it reached a point where if I had let things get to me, I would have thrown myself off a cliff,”. He continued, “But I don’t care about any of it. Honestly, not at all because I don’t know them. These people have no lives and why should I care? I’ll never meet them, they’re robots, you know?”.
Further more, he had shown his positive approach towards the trolling faced by him. He said, ” healthy because if you care about people’s opinions, you’re dead”. “They want you to worry and when you do, they would have won. You have to show them that you don’t care because it gets them angrier”, Gerard said.
Shakira also respondedย to his ‘Latin American’ comment by a tweet on April 2, where she wrote “Orgullosa de ser [proud to be] Latinoamericana.”
