Freaky Friday sequel: Here’s everything you need to know filming schedule and director

After years of speculations, Freaky Friday sequel seems to have finally received a green light as the studio has tapped a director.

As per the reports of The Hollywood Reporter, who was the first to break the news about landing Gantara, the wheels are now in motion for production to being ramping up this summer and film the project in Los Angeles.

The outlet also reported that 2003 comedy’s original stars – Lindsay Lohan and Jamie Lee Curtis – are already in discussion to reprise their mother- daughter roles. Andrew Gunn is back as a producer, and will be producing alongside Kristin Burr and Ann Marie Sanderlin.

The THR also reported that currently it is unclear whether the movie will be released on Disney+ or have a theatrical release.

Earlier, it was reported by Entertainment Tonight that a sequel  was in development at the Disney and the lead actors were in talks to reprise their role. Moreover, it was also learned that a script was in making by Elyse Hollander, a newcomer screenwriter best known for penning Blonde Ambition.
