
With creator Sam Levinson still working on scripts for the upcoming third season of HBO’s Euphoria, the plans on filming have been temporarily put on hold, with the cast being given permission to take other acting jobs in the interim.
In a statement to Deadline, the network stated, “HBO and Sam Levinson remain committed to making an exceptional third season… In the interim, we are allowing our in-demand cast to pursue other opportunities.”
As per the sources, there had never been any firm production schedule for the upcoming season, but it was expected that the shooting would start in the next couple of months.
Upon being asked about taking time off post her Southwest premiere of her new horror movie Immaculate, Sydney Sweeney, earlier this month, had stated, “I go into Euphoria.”
The acclaimed drama, whose second season aired two years ago, witnessed the careers of its cast explode. The series features Zendaya, Sydney, Jacod Elordi, recurring actor Colman Domingo, who recently received Oscar nomination, and Storm Reid, who won an Emmy for his role in The Last of Us.
