The premier of Netflix’s next sci-fi series 3 Body Problem is just around the corner, and the creators David Benioff, DB Weiss (the Game of Thrones duo), and Alexander Woo, stopped by SXSW and mentioned a bit about their upcoming project in a conversation with Collider.
The creators mentioned that the idea behind season 1 and 2 is to follow the arcs from the first volumes of Cixin Liu’s trilogy of books, which has inspired the show. Upon being asked how quickly they’d get to work on season 2, if Netflix orders its renewal, Woo answered, “We’re doing it now.”
How many seasons will 3 Body Problem have?
The upcoming sci-fi series on Netflix might need 4 seasons to complete the story, as per the creators. Post talking about the arcs in season 1 and 2, Benioff revealed that they will probably need a different approach for the third novel. “The third book is massive. It’s twice as long, I think, as the other books. So maybe that’s one season, maybe it’s two. But you know, I think we’d need at least three, maybe four seasons to tell the whole story,” he stated.
When will 3 Body Problem release?
The sci-fi series will release on Netflix on March 21.
