British social media sensation, musician and boxer KSI kickstarted his India visit with an unmistakably Mumbai-style welcome. Soon after landing in Mumbai on Wednesday, the global star immersed himself in the city’s vibrant street culture during a special shoot with HTCity at a Mumbai studio.
True to the spirit of the city, KSI experienced the ultimate Mumbaikar combo — piping hot vada pav paired with cutting chai — while also enjoying a spirited game of gully cricket with the studio staff. The moment perfectly captured Mumbai’s everyday charm, blending food, sport and community into one lively experience.
Speaking about his fondness for India, KSI said HTCity that this was not his first visit and that the warmth of the people, along with the country’s culture and cuisine, keeps drawing him back. While he prefers to avoid dishes that are extremely spicy, local Indian food continues to be a favourite whenever he is in the country. According to him, the welcoming nature of the people ensures that every visit feels memorable.
Although cricket is not his strongest suit, the YouTuber-turned-boxer was visibly enjoying himself during the friendly gully cricket session, embracing the informal sport that is deeply rooted in Mumbai’s streets.
As a musician with a global fan base, KSI also spoke about Indian artistes currently dominating his playlist. He praised Hanumankind as a breakthrough artiste whose work commands immense respect, while calling Badshah the “boss of music”. Punjabi superstar Diljit Dosanjh also featured among his favourites, with KSI expressing hope that collaborations with Indian musicians could happen in the future.
A major highlight of his India itinerary includes a fan meet that will see him share the stage with popular creators CarryMinati, Tanmay Bhatt, Abhishek Malhan and Samay Raina. The event promises light-hearted entertainment, including laughter challenges and interactive segments for fans.
