
A screening of Chhaava in Bharuch, Gujarat, turned chaotic when a man vandalized the silver screen of a multiplex. The incident occured on Sunday night at RK Cinemas during the final show, scheduled at 11.45 PM. The accused, identified as Jayesh Vasava, was allegedly intoxicated when he stormed towards the screen, and damaged it with a fire extinguisher, tearing it apart. His arrest has been confirmed by police on Monday.
As per the official from Bharuch A Division Police Station, Vasaca became overwhelmed during a scene depicting the execution of Sambhajiraje Maharaj by Aurangzeb. In an emotional reaction to it, the man attempted to “attack Aurangzeb” on screen. The multiplex staff had to intervene before he could cause any further damage.

RK Cinema’s general manager, RV Sood, shared details over the financial loss and disruption caused by the incident. He stated that he received a call from one of the staff members, informing him about the vandalism. “We immediately removed the individual from the auditorium to prevent further harm. The damage is estimated to be around Rs. 1.5 lakh,” he added.
The GM also mentioned that the scheduled screenings on Monday were affected, however, the repairs were prioritized and the operations were expected to resume by night.
