Yuzvendra Chahal snapped arriving at Bandra Family Court to finalize divorce with Dhanashree Verma

Yuzvendra Chahal and Dhanashree Verma are headed for a divorce and the Bombay High Court has now ordered to speed up the proceedings by waiving off the mandatory six-month cooling period so that the final hearing of divorce could take place before IPL, which begins on March 23.

Under Section 13B of the Hindu Marriage Act, a six month cooling off period is mandatory before granting a divorce decree. The period was waived off mainly because the couple were already living separately for more than two years and are getting divorced through mutual consent. It has also been claimed that the waiver would help the cricketer to complete divorce formalities before his IPL commitment.

Meanwhile, it has been reported that Yuzi has agreed to pay Rs. 4.75 crore to Dhanashree, out of which he has already paid Rs. 2.37 crore. The Bombay High Court has ordered to take the final decision by March 20 due to Yuzvendra’s commitment towards IPL. The cricketer plays for Rajasthan Royals in IPL 2025.
