Shilpa Shetty Kundra once stated that she would not give her husband Raj Kundra a “break” in her films.
The actor has been married to the businessman for more than a decade. Raj is currently being held in judicial custody in connection with a case involving the creation and distribution of pornographic films.
In an interview with Mid-Day in 2012, Shilpa Shetty Kundra discussed her possible return to the film industry after her wedding, as well as her desire to even produce a film. However, when asked about the possible launch of Raj Kundra as an actor, Shilpa rejected the idea, claiming that her production house won’t be able to afford him.
She said, “Raj is too costly! Our production house can’t afford him. He’s quite a star at home and is gaining popularity that way.” Raj had previously been asked if he would be interested in becoming an actor. During a press conference in 2014, Raj stated, “Firstly, who would watch me? Secondly, as a businessman, I would be unaffordable.”
Raj and Shilpa are currently involved in legal proceedings following the businessman’s arrest in a porn racket case. The Mumbai Police identified Raj as a “key conspirator” and arrested him on July 19. He has been charged with violating Sections 420 (cheating), 34 (common intention), 292, and 293 (related to obscene and indecent advertisements and displays) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC), as well as relevant sections of the IT Act and the Indecent Representation of Women (Prohibition) Act.
