In an interview, Aishwarya had said that she was a newcomer, but she was compared to all the senior actress. Aishwarya said, “If I had done the film, I would have been teased by saying that look, Aishwarya Rai is doing what she used to do during her modeling days. Like straightening her hair, wearing mini poses in the camera. Anyway, at the end of the film, the hero comes to the lead actress. If I had done ‘Kuch Kuch Hota Hai’, I would have had to face unnecessary criticism.”
