Everyone would think that Abhishek Bachchan, son of the legendary actor Amitabh Bachchan would have received his first ever film on a silver platter. However, this is not the case. In a BAFTA 2010 interview, Abhishek had cleared the air about his career and said that he worked as a production assistant before becoming an actor and did all kinds of odd jobs on set.
According to the Manchester Evening News Abhishek said that it took him two years to get a film. He was a production boy who was supposed to make tea and clean the studio floors. He has also been Arshad Warsi’s driver.
Abhishek’s life took a huge turn after the success of Mani Ratnam’s Yuva and Sanjay Gadhvi’s Dhoom. Since then, he has been a part of several hits including the Dhoom series, Guru, Bunty Aur Babli, Paa, and Bol Bachchan and many more. He made his Bollywood debut opposite Kareena Kapoor Khan with Refugee in 2000.
On the work front, Abhishek has a lot of things lined up including Kookie Gulati’s The Big Bull in the pipeline, in which he reportedly plays a stockbroker posed on Harshad Mehta. Anurag Basu’s crime anthology Ludo, which also stars Sanya Malhotra, Fatima Sana Shaikh, Rajkummar Rao, Aditya Roy Kapur, and Pankaj Tripathi.
He also has Bob Biswas, a spin-off to 2012 hit Kahaani and the origin story of the insurance agent who was a contract killer. Reports suggest that the films might see a direct OTT release owing to the coronavirus pandemic.
