Vishal Bhardwaj clears rumours about ‘Talvar’ says, ‘Talvar was out and out Meghna Gulzar’s creation

Few days back, author Harinder S Sikka had accused the director Meghna Gulzar for not giving him credits for the film ‘Raazi’ which was released in 2018. The story of the movie was adapted from Sikka’s book ‘Calling Sehmat’. 

In an interview with Beyond Bollywood, Sikka had claimed that Meghna was struggling to get a film after she made ‘Talvar’ (2015). The reason behind this was, the market was abuzz that Talvar was originally made by Vishal Bhardwaj. Later, when Sikka asked Bhardwaj about it, he simply said that this was his ‘gurudakshina’ to his Guru, Gulzar. He further alleged that, Meghna had eaten all the credits which belonged to Vishal.

Now, Vishal Bhardwaj took to his social media handles to confirm that ‘Talvar’ whole and soul Meghna Gulzar’s creation. He also added to it that films like ‘Raazi’ and ‘Chhapaak’ are the proof of Meghna’s creative prowess.
Vishal wrote, “I only went on the sets of Talvar once, on the muhurat to break the coconut and have gulab jamun . Talvar was directed by Meghna Gulzar and it was out and out her creation. Anyone who refutes this is misinformed. She has proved her creative prowess again with the beautiful Raazi and the brave Chhapaak.
