In a live Instagram chat, Vidya Balan said that her Shakuntala Devi co-star showed some attitude when they met for the first time. Vidya Balan alleged that her co-star Jisshu Sengupta didn’t speak to her when they first met. “He didn’t even smile at me!”, Vidya Balan said on the ongoing live chat.
Jisshu, however, denied the allegation. He said that Vidya did this every time to pull his leg. The reason he didn’t speak to her was because he was too “scared”; “after all, she is Vidya Balan!”, Jisshu said.
After the humour, Vidya didn’t stop praising Jisshu for his negative role in Srijit Mukherji’s Bengali film Rajkahini. Incidentally, it was Vidya who played the lead role in Hindi remake of Rajkahini, “Begum Jaan”.
“I loved you in Rajkahini and I couldn’t believe it was the same you in Piku!”, Vidya said. Jisshu played a lovely role in PIKU while simultaneously working for a negative role in Rajkahini.
Vidya Balan and Jisshu Sengupta will be seen in the role of a husband-wife in the movie Shakuntala Devi which would be released on Amazon Prime due to ongoing lockdown.
The film, directed by Anu Menon, also stars Sanya Malhotra and Amit Sadh in key roles.
