To play the character suffering from schizophrenia, Shreya Patel herself suffered panic and anxiety attacks

In an interview with USA Newshour, the actress revealed, that while shooting for the movie Vivid, the actress also suffered severe panic attacks as well as anxiety attacks.

Shreya Patel is an Indo-Canadian actress, director and writer and apart from that, she has always been a mental health advocate. The actress has appeared in several short films in lead roles, including The intersection, The Handmaid’s Tale and Grand Army by Robert Misovic, Hulu and Netflix respectively.

Her most spectacular performance could be seen in Francis Luta’s Vivid, where she plays the character of a girl, suffering from schizophrenia. The movie even lead to win various prestigious awards in categories of ‘Best Short Film’ and ‘Independent Horror Film’.

In an interview with USA Newshour, the actress revealed, that while shooting for the movie Vivid, the actress also suffered severe panic attacks as well as anxiety attacks. The actress added that it not only happened for a one or two times, but it happened multiple times.

Shreya further added, “There was this scene where I was running and they called cut. But I kept running. My director was like ‘Shreya can you see you’re on set?’”.

After this movie, the actress although learnt how to leave the character behind.
