Taylor Swift explains the meaning of song My Boy Breaks All His Favorite Toys post speculation of it being about Matty Healy

Taylor Swift has revealed the meaning one of the tracks My Boy Breaks All His Favourite Toys from her latest album The Tortured Poets Department as fans begin speculation who does it hint towards.

The global superstar said in a breakdown of the song for Amazon Music that it is a metaphor for a rusted relationship someone is yearning to bring back to its days of being shiny and new.

The singer explained that the song takes place from a perspective of child’s toy, which is taken in perspective of being “somebody’s favorite toy until they break you and then don’t want to play with you anymore.”

Taylor noted that many of us experience the same thing in our relationships, as we valued at the most during the beginning but over the years, all of a sudden, they break us or they devalue us in their mind.

She added that all this while, we are still clinging onto the time when we were treated in a good way and convincing everyone that “they’ll get back to that.”

“So it’s kind of like a song about denial really so that you could live in this world where there’s still hope for a toxic, broken relationship,” she concluded.
