Sushant Singh Rajput Suicide Case: Maharashtra Housing Minister Jitendra Awhad demands detailed probe, ‘no newcomer should go through this torture’

Maharashtra housing minister Jitendra Awhad has demanded a detailed probe to investigate Sushant Singh Rajput’s death stating that ‘No newcomer should go through such torture’.

Maharashtra housing minister Jitendra Awhad has asked for a thorough investigation in case of Sushant Singh Rajput’s death. In a series of tweets, on micro-blogging website, the minister acknowledged the reports of nepotism and professional setbacks, which according to him may have had a role in the death of the talented actor.

The minister took his voice to Twitter and raised questions on Sushant’s professional bonds in the industry. He outrightly asked on Twitter whether or not the actor was blacklisted by certain heavyweights of the industry and stated that ‘no newcomer should go through such torture’. He also emphasised on his next step that would be meeting Maharashtra home minister Anil Deshmukh to discuss the case.

“In my personal capacity I think that a detailed enquiry should be done in #SushantSinghRajput suicide case. We have lost a upcoming talented actor who came from Patna to make place for himself in #Bollywood. The cartel story is scary and no newcomer should go thru such torture,” he wrote.
“I’m personally meeting home minister @AnilDeshmukhNCP and demanding an enquiry and the truth should be in public domain. We’re his movies stopped? We’re his movies banned? Was he forcibly removed from certain movies? Many such questions are doing rounds and leading to suspicion,” he added in another tweet.

Maharashtra Home Minister, Anil Deshmukh, had earlier tweeted that the Mumbai Police will leave no stone unturned in investigating the ‘professional rivalry’ angle as there were allegations that Sushant was suffering from clinical depression due to work. The police have started the investigation and have recorded the statements of over 10 people connected with the case, including the late actor’s family members, his rumoured girlfriend Rhea Chakraborty and close friend Mukesh Chhabra.

Sushant Singh Rajput was found dead at his Mumbai home on Sunday. The police confirmed that it was a case of death by suicide, which was corroborated by the post-mortem report. His final rites were performed at the Pawan Hans crematorium on Monday in the presence of his family members and some members of the film industry.
