As the CBI continues its Supreme Court-mandated probe into the circumstances behind the death of Bollywood actor Sushant Singh Rajput, new conspiracy theories are also brewing up on social media with each passing day.

Meanwhile, an NGO has written a letter to Shiv Sena leader Aaditya Thackeray for awarding the late actor posthumously with the Padma Bhushan honour.

For the uninitiated, Padma Bhushan is the third-highest civilian award in India, preceded by the Bharat Ratna and the Padma Vibhushan.

The letter by Prithviraj Maske, President of Sangharsh NGO, seeks Sushant must be nominated for the Padma Bhushan award posthumously for his unparalleled contribution in the field of performing arts as well as entertainment.

“A young and talented actor who left us all of sudden. An ordinary person from the state of Bihar started his career with TV serials and with all his hard work and talent stolen the hearts of his millions of followers. He is looked upon as an inspiration by the many followers,” the letter read.

“His presence still exists in the heart and the memory of the people of our county. We have never seen such tremendous support and love for any celebrity in the country.”

“We request you to nominate his name for Padma Bhushan Award and also start an Award programme in the name of Late Sushant Singh Rajput by the state government like we have Dadasaheb Phalke. While doing this we will definitely have our Soulful Tribute and he will be always remembered as a bright and talented self-made Actor,” Prithviraj Maske, President of Sangharsh NGO, Mumbai, wrote.

Meanwhile, a CBI team has also visited the late actor’s flat twice in Bandra as well as the Cooper Hospital, where the autopsy took place.

However, the central probe agency is yet to summon Sushant’s girlfriend Rhea Chakraborty and her family members, who have been booked for abetment to suicide.

Rajput, 34, was found dead in his Bandra apartment on June 14.
